Partnerships

In May 2026, Seturion, flatexDEGIRO, Societe Generale and Societe Generale-FORGE formed a strategic partnership to develop a pan-European settlement infrastructure for tokenised assets. Now, Boerse Stuttgart Digital is taking its European expansion one step further.
Through its collaboration with Societe Generale-FORGE (SG-FORGE), Europe’s leading crypto infrastructure partner is now also integrating EUR CoinVertible, a MiCAR-compliant euro stablecoin issued by the French bank subsidiary.
Brief summary
Boerse Stuttgart Digital is integrating Societe Generale-FORGE’s MiCAR-compliant euro stablecoin, EUR CoinVertible, into its regulated trading and custody solutions.
Stablecoins are digital assets that are pegged to a stable reference value (e.g. a currency such as the euro or US dollar), with the aim of reducing price volatility in the crypto market.
This collaboration deepens the existing connection between Boerse Stuttgart Group and Societe Generale, extending it to include digital assets.
It also allows Boerse Stuttgart Digital to expand its institutional offering and strengthen its expansion across Europe, particularly in the French market.
EUR CoinVertible allows payments and settlements in euro and supports the creation of a regulated, European infrastructure for digital assets.
Euro stablecoins are tokens whose value is pegged to the euro and backed by a segregated reserve of euro denominated assets. This ensures that their value remains as stable as possible. They combine the digital transferability of blockchain-based assets with the stability of being aligned with an established currency. Euro stablecoins therefore provide rare price stability in an otherwise volatile crypto market.
They can be used for various purposes, including:
Digital payments
Crypto asset trading
Settlement of tokenised financial transactions
The market is growing rapidly: the global supply of stablecoins is projected to increase by a factor of five to twelve by 2030. Boerse Stuttgart Group is in no doubt that stablecoins are becoming a foundational layer of digital finance in Europe. Establishing them will largely depend on regulated financial institutions.
The Group’s CEO, Matthias Voelkel, underlined the strategic significance of these products for the European financial market: ‘Euro stablecoins are also a matter of strategic sovereignty, enabling Europe to build its own trusted digital financial infrastructure rather than relying on non-European alternatives. Their adoption will be led by regulated financial institutions and banks, embedding trust, compliance, and resilience into the financial infrastructure of the future.’
One example of a euro stablecoin is EUR CoinVertible, the MiCAR-compliant offering from Societe Generale-FORGE. Partnering with a subsidiary of a major European bank that has worked closely with Boerse Stuttgart Group for two decades allows Boerse Stuttgart Digital to integrate this euro stablecoin into its regulated trading and custody solution, making it available to institutional customers.
For Dr Matthias Voelkel, the partnership plays an important role in expanding Boerse Stuttgart Digital’s presence in the area of digital assets: ‘For decades, we have provided leading financial institutions across Europe with regulated market infrastructure. This partnership reflects our shared commitment to building reliable, compliant, and trusted crypto and digital asset infrastructure for the European financial market.’
The regulatory basis for this is the payment services licence granted by BaFin in May 2026 under the German Payment Services Supervision Act (ZAG). With this licence, Boerse Stuttgart Digital meets requirements to not only provide custody services for e-money tokens such as EUR CoinVertible (EURCV), but also to transfer them as part of its stablecoin offering.
While most crypto platforms rely on US dollar-based stablecoin solutions from Web3-native issuers, Boerse Stuttgart Digital is deliberately taking a different approach. The first stablecoin to be integrated is euro-denominated, MiCAR-compliant and was issued by Societe Generale-FORGE, the subsidiary of a systemically important European bank.
USD stablecoins | EUR CoinVertible (EURCV) | |
|---|---|---|
Reference currency | Pegged to the US dollar | Pegged to the euro |
Issuer | Often Web3-native issuers | Societe Generale-FORGE, subsidiary of a systemically important European bank |
Focus | Widely adopted internationally | Focus on European market infrastructure |
Regulations | Varying regulatory frameworks | MiCAR-compliant |
SG-FORGE CEO Jean-Marc Stenger also emphasised the importance of the coin and the partnership: ‘The integration of EUR CoinVertible into Boerse Stuttgart Digital’s infrastructure marks a new step in fostering the adoption of a trusted euro-denominated digital asset, supported by leading institutions.’
The partnership therefore strengthens SG-FORGE’s position as a European reference issuer for stablecoins, as well as deepening the connection between the crypto-native ecosystem and Boerse Stuttgart Digital’s regulated financial market infrastructure.
The partnership demonstrates once again Boerse Stuttgart Digital’s full commitment to both European sovereignty and institutional crypto adoption. Through this integration, Boerse Stuttgart Digital provides you, as a (prospective) customer, with a stable, secure euro settlement and payment instrument that meets the regulatory and institutional standards European banks require, while addressing crypto market needs. Studies show that 50 percent of crypto investors worldwide have already used stablecoins for cross-border payments.
